Current Research

Our projects in progress are focused on bullying, cyberbullying, and school violence prevention. Our lab is collectively involved in our longitudinal project on Bullying Prevention and School Bus Safety in Southern Illinois   (click here to see more details).

Katie Hnetkovsky is conducting a dissertation study focused on mental health services, social support, and behavioral functioning among youth in residential correctional facilities.

Catherine Forster is conducting a dissertation study of social media use, netiquette, social support, and internalizing symptoms among first year college students.

Maxwell Seigel is concluding his thesis study of bullying awareness, recognition, attitudes, and preparedness to intervene among a sample of K-8 grade teachers in Southern Illinois.

Freddy Siglar, for his dissertation project, is analyzing Project Restore data to assess the relations among parental support, attitudes toward school, school disciplinary practices and juvenile delinquency.
